Jefferson Public Library Building
(now known as the Carnegie Building)
305 South Main Street
Jefferson, Wisconsin 53549-1717

Claude & Starck, 1911

A Claude & Starck library building in Prairie, as opposed to Sullivanesque, mode. Replaced by a new library building in 1985, the Claude & Starck building appears to be in transition, according to a remark made on the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce website (scroll down): “You will see some construction being done as Fidelity Land Title has purchased the building and remodeling has started and the two buildings will be connected.” What this means for the Carnegie Building is unclear at this time.
