Random Notes - A Blog

After single-handedly providing photographs for the Utah pages on the Prairie School Traveler, Butch Kmet now turns his lens toward landmarks in the cradle of the Prairie School: suburban Chicago. Newly represented here are Wright’s best known works in Oak Park (Unity Temple and his own home and studio), and in neighboring Riverside, buildings by Wright and his colleagues for Avery Coonley, and the remaining buildings from Purcell & Elmslie’s Babson estate. Additional images from Butch’s trip are forthcoming.
