Sam Schneider House Walter Burley Griffin & Barry Byrne, 1915 Griffin is the primary designer, though Byrne drew the working drawings and supervised the construction after Griffin left for Australia. McCoy points out the interesting comparison between three Griffin houses, those for Schneider, Rule and Melson. "The Schneider House is below the street level, the Rule House is at street level, and the Melson House is an upward extension of the cliff. Though the floor plans are essentially the same, the aesthetic expression of the three houses are very different." References |
