Harold E. Hineline House Purcell, Feick & Elmslie, 1910 This home was commissioned by one Mr. Burr, an associate in Butler Bros., for whom Purcell & Feick had previously done some work. Built for Burr’s daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law, the house was, according to Purcell, a version of a 1908 P&F project in which a barn was converted into a residence, “…a very simple project had a great influence on all my later work.” A recent owner, impressed by the Elmslie-designed art glass, commisioned the creation of additional panels for doors and windows throughout the house. |
