St. John A.M.E. Church
2402 North 22nd Street Omaha, Nebraska 68110-2210 Frederick S. Scott/Reinholdt F. Henning, 1922, 1956
St. John’s was the first church for African-Americans in Nebraska. Its worship home is an eccentric design broadly inspired by Wright’s early Prairie buildings, such as Unity Temple and the City National Bank in Mason City. This is a view from the southwest. |
