City Market Building
101 North Blount Street
Madison, Wisconsin 53703-4605

Robert L. Wright, 1909

Built to provide a place for local vendors, the building was soon converted to other uses; for many years, the city street department used it as a garage. In 1987, it was rehabilitated into 18 apartments. The exterior remains largely original.

Robert Wright (no relation of Frank Lloyd Wright) worked for a time for Claude & Starck.

The photos were taken in August 2007, when the streets were being repaved.
